Methodology
- Each data point represents a daily snapshot of the US nicotine pouch market. Recent dates come from live store data; older dates may be reconstructed from price history.
- Only verified US stores with in-stock, recently checked products are included in live snapshots.
- Best price-per-can includes estimated shipping costs to New York (ZIP 10001) as a baseline.
- Mixpacks, accessories, and implausible outlier prices (<$0.50 or >$20 per can) are excluded.
- Historical data before the daily snapshot system is backfilled from price history records using current product and store metadata. Backfilled data does not include stock status checks and uses current shipping costs.
- Week-over-week comparisons and charted segments only use the same comparable series, defined as the same snapshot source and methodology version.
- Brand trends show the top 5 brands by current product coverage, with their median best-price-per-can over time.
- Strength distribution uses nicotine mg buckets: 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, and 13+ mg.
- The downloadable CSV includes market, brand, strength, and flavor trend rows, along with snapshot source and methodology version for each point.
